Once you have registered with the Cl@ve system, whenever you wish to carry out an e-government procedure, Cl@ve Móvil will allow you to authenticate yourself simply by scanning a QR code or confirming the request that will appear in the Cl@ve app.
Access via QR code:
- Once you access the service, you will be redirected to the Cl@ve platform
- Select Cl@ve Mobile to identify yourself
- You will be redirected to the identity provider, where you will see the authentication request showing the details of the requesting body, the QR code to scan with the app, the request’s expiry timer (5 minutes) and the three-digit verification code.
- Open the Cl@ve app, tap ‘Scan QR code’ and point the scanner at the QR code displayed in the browser.
- Once the QR code has been scanned, check that the verification code and the organisation match those in the request and tap ‘Confirm’.
- You will need to confirm a second time by entering your device’s unlock factor (fingerprint, pattern, facial recognition, PIN, etc.).
- Finally, the app will display the message “Authentication complete” and, in the web browser, you will be able to access the task you were attempting to carry out, now that you are authenticated.
Access without scanning a QR code:
If, when authenticating via Cl@ve Móvil, you are unable to access the service by scanning the QR code with the Cl@ve app, you can use your National Identity Card (DNI) or Foreigner Identification Number (NIE) details as an alternative.
- Once you have accessed the service, you will be redirected to the Cl@ve platform.
- Select Cl@ve Móvil to log in
- You will be redirected to the identity provider, where you will see the authentication request with the details of the requesting body, the QR code to scan with the app, the request expiry timer (5 minutes) and the three-digit verification code. Tap ‘...continue with Cl@ve Móvil authentication without scanning the QR code’.
- Enter your DNI or NIE and the verification detail depending on the type of document: expiry date for DNI, issue date for permanent DNI, or document number for NIE. Click “Continue”.
- The authentication request will appear on screen, showing your DNI/NIE details, the requesting body, the 5-minute validity timer for the request, the verification code and instructions for opening the app and confirming the request. If you cannot access it this way, after 59 seconds the alternative option to request the PIN via SMS will be enabled.
- You may then receive a notification from the app on your mobile device. Open the app and you will be prompted to authenticate using Cl@ve Móvil with the same details as before. Tap ‘Confirm’; for security reasons, you will be asked to confirm this a second time.
- You will also need to enter the authentication factor set for your mobile device (fingerprint, PIN, pattern, facial recognition, etc.).
- Finally, the message ‘Authentication complete’ will appear and you will be able to access the task you were attempting to carry out, now that you are authenticated.
