Frequently asked questions (FAQs) about Cl@ve Permanente

To make use of Cl@ve Permanente you have to follow the following steps:

  • Perform the registration procedure in Cl@ve, and thus obtain an Activation Code.
  • Access the user activation service located either in the Your Social Security portal or in the electronic security headquarters in the Password Management section, and fill in the following user data: DNI/NIE, Email, Activation Code).
  • Recibirás en el móvil que facilitaste en el acto de registro un código numérico de verificación (One Time Password, OTP) que deberás introducir para seguir con el proceso de activación de usuario.
  • If you have completed everything correctly, you will be asked to enter the desired password, as long as it complies with the password policy defined in the comments on the page.
  • Once all these steps have been completed, you can start making use of the services accessible through the authentication of Cl@ve Permanente.

In order to activate your Cl@ve Permanente user, you will be asked for the DNI/NIE number, the activation code that they gave you in the registration act and the email you provided in that registration. In addition, you must have at hand the mobile phone that you provided in the registration act, to which an SMS will be sent with a numerical verification code (OTP) that you must enter in order to then enter your desired password and end with the activation of your user Cl@ve Permanente.

To use the Cl@ve Permanente user/password, you must first access an e-government service that allows authentication using Cl@ve Permanente. This service will redirect you to a Cl@ve screen where you can select the Permanent Cl@ve option. In turn, you will be redirected to another screen that will request your username and password. If the authentication is correct, you will be given access to the service.

User activation and password management services can make use of sending by SMS a numerical verification code (One Time Password, OTP)

The services of user activation and password forgetting, will request the verification code as validation of the user authentication.

The password change and user deregistration services will ask you for this code as confirmation of the operation, that is, to terminate the service.

    Please check the following situations:

    • If you are using a multiSIM card, SMS messages are sent to the primary number and not to secondary ones. Check that you are registered on your mobile terminal with the correct number.
    • Check that your operator is not restricted to sending and/or receiving SMS of special numbers.
    • The problem can be the configuration of your mobile terminal. Please try inserting your SIM card into another terminal. (In 90% of cases, when testing on another phone, all SMS pending delivery have been received).

You cannot change the user code, as it will always be your DNI/NIE.

To change your password, you must authenticate to the password change service and follow the steps described in that service.

The security question is used to prevent malicious attacks by bots and thus prevent real users from being registered by brute force attacks by other people.

It is possible that due to communication problems, the data provided in the registry are not yet available for the activation of your user. Please try to access the User Activation service after 24 hours. If you have problems again, please contact us through the following means:

      • By phone, calling the phone number 060.

The important thing is to know how you registered, whether it was in a Social Security office or another Cl@ve registration office. Since only registered users in Cl@ve offices will be able to perform these operations.

Even so, all registered Social Security users who are not in Cl@ve will be offered the migration to Cl@ve when they authenticate in any Social Security service, or when accessing the Your Social Security portal.

This means that you registered in the Social Security before the entry of Cl@ve, so you have not given your consent to use in Cl@ve the data you have registered in the Social Security. To be able to make use of all the services available at Cl@ve you must join this platform through the indicated migration process.

The Cl@ve logo appears to indicate that the Your Social Security portal is accessible to Cl@ve users, as well as Social Security users.

If you need additional help to use the Cl@ve system, you can obtain it through the following means:
