1. Access the user activation service and fill in the following user data: DNI/NIE, Email, Activation Code that you were provided with in the registration act.
2. If they are correct, the system will send you an SMS with a single-use numeric code (One Time Password, OTP) that you must type in the field of the corresponding form.
3. If it is correct, the system will allow you to set the password of your choice, provided that it meets minimum security characteristics. This password will be the one that you must use from now on every time an e-government service requests it.
If you mistakenly enter the activation code more than 5 times, the system will inform you and then block the activation code. In this case it will be necessary to generate a new activation code, for which you must perform the registration act again in Cl@ve.
Management of the password
If you have forgotten your password or simply want to change it, you can reset it again at any time using one of the following procedures:
Change of Password
For reasons of expiration or security, you may want to change the password. To do this, access the password change service and follow the steps described there.
In case of forgetting the password or if it is blocked due to exceeding the maximum number of 5 failed attempts, a new password can be established as long as you have retained the activation code. To do this, you must access the password activation service and follow the steps indicated there.
If at any time later you want to reactivate your Permanent Cl@ve, you must complete the registration process again at Cl@ve.
Password security requirements
In order for the system to have a certain level of security, it is necessary that the access password meets minimum requirements that make it robust against attacks aimed at obtaining it.
The main requirements for the permanent Cl@ve password are:
It must have a minimum length of 8 characters.
It must contain at least one character from each of the following groups: lower case letters, upper case letters, digits and special characters.
The letters ñ and ç, as well as the vowels with tilde are considered allowed letters. Any of the following can be used as special characters:
¡!$?%&#@/\()=¿?*[];,:._<>+-
If the password has a length equal to or greater than 16 characters there will be no restrictions on the type of characters to be used (this allows you to use a full phrase as a password).
The password may not contain the name, surname or ID.
In the renewal of the password you will not be able to use the previous password.
Your password expires after 2 years, its change being obligatory after this time. If you access the service after this time, you will be asked to renew your password. You can also modify it at any time through the Password Change service, from which time you will have another 2 years of validity.
Password security recommendations
Additionally, it is advisable to follow the following guidelines when creating and managing secure passwords:
Avoid using the same password that you already use on other systems or services.
Do not use personal information in the password: personal or family name, surname, or date of birth. And, of course, on no occasion to use data such as ID or telephone number.
Avoid using basic keyboard sequences (for example: “ASDF” or numerals: “1234”, etc.
Do not repeat the same characters in the same password. (e.g. : “111222”).
Not to use user-related data that is easily deductible, or derived from them. (e.g. do not password nicknames, the name of the actor or of a preferred fictional character, etc. ).
Do not write or reflect the password on a paper or document where it is recorded, or never send it by email or in an SMS. Nor should it be facilitated or mentioned in a conversation or communication of any kind.
